Plants around the Rabbit Hole.
ラビットホール周辺で見つけた野草。
Wild summer plants along the Castle Semple Loch.
Meadow Sweet, I utterly fell in love with this beauty. The posture, how it flowers freely showing different phases of the development of its flower heads (Japanese traditionally love asymmetry ), the shape of the leaves, the colour of the stems and the sweet scent as it belongs to a rose family.
Himalayan balsams are also common plants here. So delicate and pretty but this is one of the dangerous invasive non-native plants listed on the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 in Wales and England (not in Scotland) along with such as Japanese Knotweed and Rhododendron. Himalayan Balsam was introduced in 1839 to Britain by Victorian plant hunters.
湖沿いに咲く野生の草花たち
メドースイート (西洋夏雪草)。その美しさにすっかり魅了されてしまいました。フワフワと優しく華やかな姿。それぞれの枝先の蕾は少しずつ開き加減に差があって、様々に見せる左右非対称な花の表情。葉っぱのフォルムや枝の色味も完璧み。そしてバラ科に属し、その名も示す様に甘い香りがします。
ヒマラヤンバルサム。これほど可憐な花にもかかわらず、イギリスではエコシステムに悪影響を及ぼす外来種という事で、湖や川沿いの湿地帯を中心に繁殖が深刻な問題となっています。
The benefits of flies in the ecosystem
I've just learnt that only bees, including some wasps, pollinate more plants than flies.
朝の散歩コース、湖沿いの野草たち。蜂に次いで受粉にもっとも貢献しているのはハエだそうです。エコシステムの中でしっかりと役割を果たしているのですね。

キャッスルセンプル湖
Shooting Stars and the Milky Way, the remains of the Tanabata Star Festival at the village’s Calder Waterfall, a traditional ancient culture in Japan introduced from China in the 8th century.
家沿いの道を湖と反対側へ5分ほど歩くと林の中に現れるの滝。七夕の翌日、滝の作る泡たちは天の川のようでした。
Beautiful ferns around the waterfall and Sambucus Black Lace with dark leaves and pale pink blossoms in the neighbour’s garden. I found them so fascinating that we bought the plant, Racemosa, at a huge nursery in the nearby village.
美しいシダそして滝までの道沿い、民家の庭に咲いていた西洋接骨木(ﾆﾜﾄｺ )。あまりの美しさに、後日近所のガーデンセンターでRacemosaという品種のものを見つけて購入。

先月輝くばかりの満開だった純白の紫陽花は、枝垂れスタイルに。

青空。ゴールドに反射する川面の景色。

The usual morning walk during the summer was around the loch.
朝の散歩は夏の間、湖畔沿いが日課。
Annabelles and hawthorns
立派なアナベルと村のあちこちで見かける山査子(ｻﾝｻﾞｼ)の実。
The old train bridge over the street towards the train station. The Rabbit Hole is just off the bridge.
ラビットホール脇、駅までの道にかかる旧鉄道橋。
Visiting Ardkinglas woodland garden to meet red squirrels. The next photo is taken in Argyll Forest Park.
赤リスに会いに出かけた森とアーガイル森林公園。
The nearby local trail, Locherwood and the Lady Muir Trail, Clyde Muirshiel was covered with Scottish heather.
